Exercise and nature

My house has 15 sets of stairs. I know this because I counted them yesterday as I painfully, and slowly, made my way up and down them! Why was it painful? Well…I decided it was time I started working out again..apparently you shouldn’t try to make up for lost time all at once!! You should have seen me taking the kids to the store yesterday. People probably wondered what in the heck was wrong with me!? I had Nora in the baby Bjorn (she’s getting heavy), and I was walking around like Frankenstein…I just couldn’t get my legs to work right.

What I wish my workouts would look like…

My legs are so sore that when I saw dropped food on the floor, I actually just decided it wasn’t so bad and left it there…Ugh!!! And let’s not even talk about going to the ‘loo’! I reckon I’ll lighten up on the weights just a tad…today I’m running on the treadmill again, about a mile and a half. Now those of you who think this is a warm-up, I don’t want to hear it! By the time I get everyone breakfast, change the baby, and I get dressed and to the basement, I’ve already got my heart rate up. And listen, if you have NOT tried running on the treadmill while listening to crying babies and feuding boys while dodging soccer balls, then you don’t really understand how this is no easy mile and half stroll in the park!!! Well, I’d better stop talking and start running….Here goes nothin!

Here’s a few pics I’ve taken in the past couple of days…thought you might like!

We grew this sunflower from seed…

Pretty isn’t it?

An overnight rainstorm left these pretty droplets!

It is so humid here…my lens kept fogging up!

Beautiful sunflowers! I know what you mean about the foggy lens: had the same problem this morning!
Sounds like you get plenty of exercise just keeping up with your little ones! Don’t overdo!

    1. Hope you’ve got air conditioning….maybe we’ll get a break soon!

Oh, I know what its like trying to workout with a screaming baby! Everytime, I get into it or get a good sweat goin the baby loses his paci. Once I get it in and get back to exercising, here comes the 2yr old to yank it out of his month or turn his swing off. Or Sophie, the 2yr old, wants to sit on my foot in the middle of a work out and “Walk momma, walk!” I guess I could count that as a workout, haulin’ her butt around on my foot!

    1. Why don’t you just move up here and then we can take turns watching the kiddos!

  3. What a wonderful image of you running while dodging soccer balls! But now you’ve really given me no excuse not to exercise…

Great photos! Stay nice and cool. This weekend should be much nicer than this last week here.

    1. I’m planning on staying (cool) inside all day today…cleaning up this messy house! The boys are going to be so thrilled!! 🙂
