Sometimes the military stinks!

My parents left yesterday…..Beau just cried and cried! I just hate it when my kids are sad! Being so far away, we usually only see family about once, twice if we’re lucky, a year, so when our visits come to an end they take it kinda hard. Sometimes….the military just stinks!! I would love for my boys to have their cousins close by. I would love for them to have someone other than Mom & Dad come and watch them play sports. I would love for them to have big family birthday parties. I would love for them to have family get-togethers every holiday. I would love for them to be able to share their everyday accomplishments with their aunts and uncles.

Did I mention that sometimes the military stinks?

Alright, enough of that, I’d better ‘buck up’…it could be worse!

Here’s a few pics of my parent’s visit…..

A full front porch…One of these days, I’m gonna get a tripod, and learn to use the timer feature on my camera, and get Chicken & Mabel in the picture!

That must be so tough – living away from family! (But, by the way, thank you to you & your family for your service…)
Looks like you had a wonderful visit with your parents.

  2. Sigh. I know that pain of living far away from family all too well. My mom–who used to come visit for three or four or more weeks at a time–can’t come visit for that long much anymore because she watches my 19-month-old niece for my brother. She was recently here for five days and even though it was really great that we got to see her, the visit felt like it was over before it even started.

I hope the time before the next visit is short!

That brought a tear to my eye! I know I wish I could be closer to you. Even though you are my sister, you are pretty much the only “girlfriend” I talk to on a regular basis. And how much fun would it be for Henry to teach Sophie some things, although she could show him a thing or two. And Nora could show Cruz the ropes! We need to plan a long family vacation like the year we went to Disney World!

    1. Aww….you’re my bestest girlfriend too! You’re right…we do need to get our broods together somewhere….it would be fun…Henry and Sophia might get us kicked out of a few places though! 🙂

My sister’s family is in the military too and I’m always hoping they get posted somewhere close by – even a 3 or 4 hour drive away would mean I would visit them on weekends. Sadly they are always many provinces away.

    1. A 3-4 hour drive to get to family would be amazing…Maybe one day! Hope you get to see your sisters family soon! Thanks for reading.
