You know what? I was watching French Food At Home the other day with Laura Calder, and wondered…Why can’t I look like that when I’m cooking in the kitchen? I love her style! She is always wearing some kind of cute sundress and well…quit frankly I’m a bit jealous! Her kitchen is also to die for…. I’m lovin her big ‘ol farmhouse sink and the big picture window and the garden patio right out the door…LOVE IT! The setting is just so perfect…maybe that’s why she can waltz around- pretty as can be- making souffles and truffles! Me, on the other hand…well let’s just say sweatpants and a bun aren’t really conducive to creme brulee & endive salad…more like meatloaf and mashed potatoes! Yeah, somehow I just don’t see my sitting down to a nice set table enjoying a fine dinner with a glass of wine and listening to Sinatra!

Unless……..

Maybe it’s all about the clothes and hair?

Maybe a snazzy little dress like this could produce a T.V. worthy meal?

Maybe I will dress up a little more….fix my hair….maybe I will turn on some good music….maybe we will try using cloth napkins, candles and flowers…..Maybe….

Oh Heck! Who am I kidding? I’m still on sub floors, and my view is of water stained walls and punched out air holes in the ceiling (yes we are still waiting on insurance to get it all fixed)! And you and I both know there will be funny jokes being told, milk being spilled, plates to refill, ketchup to be squeezed onto anything edible and more food on the floor than the table! But you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way! Good thing too, because I don’t see this looking any different for quite some time! Now Sinatra? There will definitely be more Sinatra…That I can do!
